Salisbury Man Goes to Prison for Attempted Robbery, Assault

Michael Moss

SALISBURY, Md.- A judge has sentenced a Salisbury man convicted of attempted robbery and assault to 25 years in prison.

Prosecutors said that 43-year-old Michael Moss' conviction last week stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 23 when he attempted to rob Citi Trends in Fruitland, Md.

Moss entered the store and assaulted an employee by throwing her by her hair to the ground. Immediately thereafter he ran toward the store manager and demanded money. Prosecutors said that when the store manager refused and indicated that she knew who Moss was, he threw a stapler at her, cutting her. Moss fled the store without any money or

property from the store. The store manager identified Moss as the perpetrator to police by name as well as in a photographic lineup.

On Nov. 10,  a Wicomico County Circuit Court jury found Moss guilty of attempted robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, and trespassing.
