Updated: Cambridge Boat Destroyed in Late Thursday Night Fire

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities in Dorchester County are investigating a late Thursday night fire that engulfed a boat at a Cambridge marina.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened just before 11 p.m. at Cambridge Yacht Basin at 2 Yacht Club Drive, and involved a 1991 39-foot Topaz Flybridge boat. 

It took 35 firefighters from the Rescue (Cambridge) Fire Company approximately one hour to get the fire under control.

The fire caused an estimated $185,000 in damage to the boat and another $1,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries.

The fire's cause and area of origin remain under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
