Updated: Eight People, Including Toddler, Injured in Crash on Route 90 Bridge

OCEAN CITY, Md.- Ocean City police are continuing to investigate a crash on the Route 90 bridge that left eight people injured on Sunday afternoon.

The crash involved five vehicles and one of the victims included a 2-year-old girl who was ejected from a pickup truck with her car seat, landing in the Assawoman Bay below.  Police said a witness jumped from the bridge into the bay and rescued the child, who was then flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 4 to John’s Hopkins Hospital.

Due to the complexity of the crash, the investigation is ongoing by the OCPD’s Traffic Safety Unit. Police said that preliminarily, it appears that multiple crashes may have occurred.

As of early Monday afternoon, all of the individuals transported to the hospital have been released, with the exception of the 2-year-old child who remains in stable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
