SALISBURY, Md.- Sheriff Mike Lewis announced Tuesday the release of a new mobile app for the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
The app was made possible with grant funding secured by the Wicomico County Local Management Board.
The app is available as a free download from the iPhone and Android app stores.
Wicomico County citizens can receive up-to-the-minute alerts, news, and resources important to the public safety of the county. See a list of Wicomico County’s Most Wanted fugitives: photos, physical details, date of birth, last known address, and warrant charges are listed. The Sheriff's Office said that if you encounter any of these fugitives, do not attempt
to apprehend them; instead, use the app’s Submit a Tip feature to send anonymous tips to the Sheriff’s Office. The Submit a Tip feature enables you to submit a crime tip directly to the Sheriff's Office. Your confidential tip is sent anonymously or with your contact information and photos to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. App users are asked to submit tips regarding ongoing investigations. However, you should call 911 in the case of an emergency.
Search a map of sex offenders in Wicomico County. This interactive feature is searchable by location or by name of offender. Details on each offender include name, photo, age, physical details, and nature of their offense.
Under Inmate Search, sign up for change of status/victim notifications through VINE. This list is searchable by name.
Other important features include a link to obtain crash reports; a map showing county offices, police, and fire departments; and a feed of most recent social media posts.
This app also includes important COVID-19 resources:
- Access CDC social media, travel notices, FAQs, and alerts
- Connect to Local COVID-19 news, statistics, and testing information
