ONLEY, Va.- A substitute teacher was arrested in Accomack County on Wednesday for bringing having a firearm on Nandua High School property.
According to the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, police were alerted on March 27, 2019 about a teacher at the high school with a firearm.
Following an investigation, officers recovered firearms from substitute Phillip Stewart of Locustville, Virginia. The 63-year-old was arrested for possession of a firearm on school property.
Stewart was held at the Accomack County Jail with bond denied. But was eventually released on $2,500 secured bond on Friday March 29, 2019.
