REHOBOTH BEACH, DE - The Rehoboth Beach Film Society has recognized Draper Media Family’s Mariah Calagione for her years of work with the Film Society. The Society awarded Calagione with a Legacy Award as part of their 25th Silver Screen Anniversary Independent Film Festival earlier this month.

According to the Film Society, Calagione was a founding member in 1998 with a goal of creating an annual fall Independent Film Festival in Rehoboth Beach. Calagione has supported the Film Society for the past 25 years, even serving as the Board President in 2001, and through her philanthropic work as Co-Founder of Dogfish Head Brewery.

“We are very fortunate to be on the receiving end of Mariah’s passion and generosity,” said Executive Director Helen M. Chamberlain. “She has truly made a lasting and impactful contribution to the Film Society year after year. It is for these reasons that we presented her with a Legacy Award.”

The Film Society hosted a Founders Reception on the Festival’s opening night on November 8th, taking a look back at the organization’s founders as part of the Film Society’s 25th Silver Screen Anniversary. Original members including Calagione, Rob Rector, and Barry Beckler were all in attendance.
