RIDGELY, MD - The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a farmhouse fire that caused an estimated $20k in damages overnight.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire was first reported by a passerby just after midnight on Tuesday, November 28th. 36 firefighters from the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire on Crouse Mill Road and took about 20 minutes to control the flames.

No injuries were reported. The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the area of origin and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. They ask anyone with information to contact the Upper Eastern Regional Office at 410-822-7609.

Editor's Note: This article incorrectly identified the dwelling structure as a barn instead of a farmhouse. It has been updated to reflect the correct structure.
