SALISBURY, Md-- A longtime member of the Salisbury news media world has passed away.
Greg Bassett, the founding editor of the Salisbury Independent Newspaper, died at the age of 63 on Saturday, according to the Salisbury Independent.
In an article issued by the Salisbury Independent on Sunday, co-found Darel La Prade said: "Greg was a remarkable man, a loving father, and the best local journalist I have ever known."
The Wicomico High School alum had over 30 years of newspaper experience and was best known for his love of journalism and keeping his home town of Salisbury up to date on the latest news.
