LEWES, DE - Delaware State Police Detectives arrested a 18-year-old for an attempted murder that occurred in 2023. 

Delaware State Police report that they have arrested 18-year-old Lewis M. Cameron of Hyattsville, Maryland, for attempted murder. 

On October 8th, 2023, at approximately 6:01pm, authorities responded to a residence located on Maple Court in Lewes for the report of a shooting. When troopers arrived on scene, they located a 29-year-old man from Millsboro in front of the home with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Delaware State Police say that through investigative means, detectives identified Lewis M. Cameron as the suspect. 

On May 10th, 2024, Lewis M. Cameron was extradited to Delaware from Maryland, according to DSP. He was charged with the following crimes. 

- Attempted 1st Degree Murder

- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

Cameron was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,209,100 cash bond. 

DSP say their homicide unit continues to investigate this incident and is asking anyone with information to contact 302-741-2729.
