Tilghman house fire

TILGHMAN ISLAND, Md.- A fire on Tilghman Island was believed to be caused by a failure of a bathroom exhaust fan Monday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal says the fire was found by a person inside the home in the first floor bathroom of a two-story home on Summitt Street around 8 a.m. No injuries or deaths were reported. 

It took 32 firefighters from the Tilghman Volunteer Fire Company about a hour to get the fire under control.

Estimated damage is expected to be about $10,000.
