Tropical Storm Ophelia

DELMARVA - The National Hurricane Center has reported that Ophelia has officially made landfall in North Carolina as the storm heads north towards our area. 

The Hurricane Center says Ophelia made landfall near Emerald Isle around 6:15 a.m. with maximum winds of 70 mph. The tropical storm was traveling North-Northwest at about 9 mph, according to the Hurricane Center. 

Ophelia is expected to move inland and then across portions of southeastern Virginia and Delmarva tonight into Sunday. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect for much of lower Delmarva.
