Suspect's Fingerprints Leads to Arrest in Reported Burglary

DOVER, DE– Dover Police say they arrested two teens following a burglary investigation.

Officers responded to Cosmic Smoke at 515 S. DuPont Blvd. around 12:45 a.m. Oct. 11 for an alarm activation, saying they found the business’s front window broken but no suspects inside. 

Investigation revealed two masked suspects forced entry through the broken window and stole an undisclosed amount of store property before fleeing on foot toward Capital Green, according to a press release.

Through investigation, detectives reportedly identified the pair – aged 14 and 16 – and obtained warrants for their arrests. 

Police say both suspects turned themselves in at Dover Police Department and were released to their parents after each was processed on the following charges:

– Burglary Third Degree

– Theft Over $1,500

– Conspiracy Second Degree

– Criminal Mischief Over $1,000 Under $5,000
