DOVER, Del.-A harrowing carjacking at the Hollywood Diner is being investigated by the Dover Police Department.

Police say they got a report of a stolen car around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9th, and responded to the restaurant. The victim, a 17 year-old woman from New York, said she was sitting in the passenger seat of the running car when a man got into the driver's seat and began backing out of the parking lot. The victim got out of the car as it was moving, causing the car to hit the girl's legs. She was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus and treated for minor injuries according to police.

The car was later found unoccupied at an apartment complex in Dover shortly after the incident.

On Friday, December 15th, Dover Police said their investigation led them to identifying Deandre Bennett, 27, of Dover, as a suspect. Police arrested Bennett on Friday and arrested him without incident.

Bennett was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on &60,000 cash bail and charged with first degree robbery.
