DOVER, Del. - State police say they are investigating a serious crash on Hazlettville Road that left one motorcyclist dead Tuesday.

Delaware State Police has identified the rider as 18-year-old Ethan Statham of Dover.

DSP confirmed the crash happened on Hazlettville Road, between Apple Grove Road and Rose Valley School Road on October 18th, just after 5:15 p.m. Authorities say a Dodge Ram was travelling west on Halzettville when it attempted to turn left into a driveway. The truck turned in front of a Kawasaki motorcycle, according to police, and struck the motorcycle.

Statham was ejected by the impact, investigators say. He died at the scene.

The 57-year-old driver of the Dodge was not injured. The roadway was reportedly closed for about four hours following the crash.

The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the crash and ask any witnesses to call them at 302-698-8518.
