SEAFORD, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a Seaford crash that claimed the life of a 58-year-old man more than a month later.

According to police, just after 3 p.m. on November 3rd, a box truck was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Woodland Ferry Road and Woodpecker Road. At the same time, police say a Ford F-150 was driving east on Woodpecker Road, which is a throughway. The box truck did not remain stopped at the stop sign for unknown reasons, according to police, and collided with the left side of the F-150. As a result of the impact, the F-150 rolled multiple times and the two occupants were ejected.

The 22-year-old driver and 37-year-old occupants of the box truck were taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The impacted F-150 was driven by a 58-year-old and occupied by his 42-year-old passenger, both from Seaford. Neither were wearing seatbelts, police say. The two were taken to a nearby hospital for serious injuries.

On Tuesday, December 19th, police say the 58-year-old man succumbed to his injuries from the crash. He has been identified as Edward Jones, of Seaford.

The intersection of Woodland Ferry Road and Woodpecker Road was temporarily closed for about 3 hours on November 3rd as police investigated and cleared the scene.
