Seaford Middleford Road Fatal Crash

SEAFORD, DE - The Delaware State Police say a Seaford crash Sunday claimed the life of a 74-year-old.

According to police, at around 4:15 p.m. December 3rd, a Nissan Versa was driving north on Sussex Highway towards Middleford Road at the same time a Honda Odyssey was driving west on Middleford Road, approaching the intersection with Sussex Highway. The Nissan failed to stop at the light, police say, and drove into the left side of the Honda.

The 74-year-old woman driving the Nissan was taken to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her wounds. On Tuesday, police identified the victim as Anna Cannon, of Seaford.

The driver of the Honda, a 47-year-old woman also of Seaford, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for about three and a half hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash and ask any witnesses to contact them at 302-703-3266.
