One Killed in Gumboro Crash

FRANKFORD, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash into a Frankford home Tuesday afternoon that resulted in the death of a 75-year-old woman.

According to police, the woman, from Frankford, was driving a Chevrolet SUV north on Dupont Boulevard toward Frankford Avenue on November 7th around 1:30 p.m. The Chevrolet, for currently unknown reasons, drove off the east side of the road and struck the side of a house, authorities say.

The 75-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries Tuesday night. On Friday, police identified the victim as Irene Owen, of Frankford.

No one in the home was injured.

The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the crash and ask anyone who witnessed it to call them at 302-703-3266.
