SMYRNA, DE - State police say a woman was hit by gunfire while inside of a home.

Delaware State Police say on Saturday, May 10, around 4:30 a.m., troopers responded to a shooting in the 800 block of Clayton Avenue. Troopers say an unknown suspect fired shots at an occupied home.

A 34-year-old woman inside was reportedly hit by gunfire and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this case to contact Detective R. Spanier by calling 302-698-8548.
