MERR advises beachgoers and boaters to look out for seals as they return to Delaware beaches

The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute is reminding Delaware beachgoers and boaters that seals are once again in the area. Four different species of seals visit Delaware waterways during winter. They can often be seen resting and sunning themselves on rocks, docks, beaches and other areas throughout the First State.

The MERR Institute says a young grey seal that was rescued on Thursday was successfully transported to the National Marine Life Center on Cape Cod for rehabilitation. The seal was initially found with a number of parasites and mildly dehydrated.
