City officials in Rehoboth Beach have announced plans to install new safety barriers at the end of Rehoboth Avenue as part of a $1.1 million pedestrian protection project.

Rehoboth Beach has installed four AI-powered license plate-reading cameras at key points around town in an effort to better assist law enforcement in identifying vehicles involved in criminal activity.

Demolition at the One Rehoboth site has been permitted to continue through June 13th, according to city leaders. The demolition was originally supposed to wrap up by May 15th, in alignment with the city's annual demolition moratorium.

Repaving work along Rehoboth Avenue, initially scheduled to resume Sunday night, has been delayed due to rainy weather. The work had been halted in December because of early cold temperatures.
