The new year might just be a walk in the park thanks to a series of public grants from The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. DNREC has awarded 18 matching grants throughout Delaware totaling $2.2 million in hopes of improving the First State’s local parks.

Cheers, music, and applause filled Seaford High School on Monday as the Blue Jays were honored for their big win. It’s the team’s first state football title in decades, and the excitement was off the charts.

Seaford Police say federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers requested their assistance with an arrest on Thursday.

Sussex County- A traffic stop by Delaware State Police in Seaford Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of a Bridgeville woman on felony drug charges.

On Thursday, a serious pedestrian crash at the intersection of Bridgeville Hwy. and Virginia Ave. that left a 16-year old Seaford High School student seriously injured, raised several safety concerns and frustrations from residents and parents. 

Some Sussex County schools are expanding their security protocols. The Seaford School District recently announced it acquired OpenGate Weapons Detection Systems – an enhanced security screening technology.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and law enforcement say they are seeking additional victims.
