WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. -- Efforts to expand access to special education services on the lower shore are finally gaining traction in Annapolis. Maryland has committed $5 million to open up a Kennedy Krieger Institute campus in Wicomico County.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Maryland lawmakers have passed a $70 billion budget that addresses the state’s $1.5 billion deficit, but some Eastern Shore legislators warn the plan does little to address long-term financial challenges.

MARYLAND -- A state panel appointed by Governor Wes Moore has voted to move forward with redrawing Maryland’s eight congressional districts. The decision is raising concerns among some local lawmakers who warn the effort could backfire politically.

The Maryland Board of Public Works approved $150,000 today to go towards the acquisition, planning, and construction of a new Diakonia campus, according to Senator Mary Beth Carozza.
