OCEAN CITY, Md - With big dark clouds overhead at the start of Day 2 of the 2019 White Marlin Open, the biggest fish thus far of the tournament was brought to the scales at the Harbor Island Marina. Pasadena, MD's Craig Dickerson caught a 465.5 pound blue marlin. "All we were worried about was getting that fish to the boat and make sure everything was safe and good," Dickerson explained. With 335 boats taking to ocean on Tuesday, it guaranteed a very busy early evening at the scales. Second place on the White Marlin leaderboard changed hands twice in the span of approximately 20 minutes. First North Carolina's William Blakemore took the spot with a 71 pound catch. "That was good seeing the 71 that put is in second place, Blakemore said. "That's pretty a good fish and that is a pretty good payout too." Moments later, the payout amount dropped when Michael Wagner aboard the Backlash had a White Marlin weighing 73.5 pounds. There was some anticipation that
Michael Jordanmight have participated on Day 2. His private jet was spotted at the Salisbury Regional Airport, and his boat the Catch 23 was witnessed out on the ocean by other White Marlin participants. Tournament officials refused to confirm the status of the boat. As of Tuesday night, the Catch 23 did not any have any days of fishing listed on the White Marlin Open
website. It was confirmed that the boat did not fish on Monday. Boats and/or anglers can fish a maximum of three days of the five day even.
