Delmar Fire Causes $250,000 in Damage

DOVER, Del.- The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating  Sunday afternoon fire that left one person dead and another injured east of Dover.

The blaze, reported shortly after 4 p.m., occurred in the unit block of Tenth Street near Pickering Beach Road.

The Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing a house trailer.

A 61-year-old man inside the home was found dead. A 67-year-old woman sustained smoke inhalation and was in stable condition at Bayhealth Hospital – Kent Campus.

The house trailer was heavily damaged with damage estimated at $20,000.

This fire remains under investigation.
