Today: A few showers are possible in the morning hours. Otherwise, it becomes partly cloudy. Highs: 78-84. Winds: N-NE 5-20+ mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows: 65-73. Winds: NE-SE 5-15 mph.
Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers by the evening hours. Highs: 78-84. Winds: SE-S 5-20+ mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with on and off rain showers and a few storms possible. Lows: 67-73. Winds: S-SW 5-20 mph.
Sunday: A lingering shower or two early is possible, otherwise it will be partly to mostly sunny. A stray pop-up shower / storm possible late in the day. Highs: 80-87. Winds: S-SW 5-20+ mph.
Monday: Partly to mostly sunny. Highs: 78-86. Winds: N-NE 5-15 mph.
We are still waiting for the cold front to clear Delmarva and we are watching some showers that will try to roll across Delmarva over the course of the next few hours. Once the front clears us by the afternoon, we should feel the humidity drop a bit with the wind turning in off the Atlantic. This will keep the beaches in the 70s and inland we will see highs in the 70s and 80s.
The front that sinks to our south will stall out just to our south as a new area of low pressure will develop along this front. As this happens, a secondary cold front will push in from the northwest as we move into Saturday night and Sunday. This new low will be forced over the top of the region and provide us the chance of some rain showers and maybe even a few rumbles of thunder from late Saturday evening into early on Sunday. The heaviest rain and storm chances will mainly be overnight into the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, but we could see some showers lingering for those heading out for early morning services on Sunday.
After battling with myself over the course of the week…the weekend forecast is a wash. I don’t think there is a better day between the two, but if we were being nit-picky…I would still say Sunday is the better day due to the fact that the sky should clear late in the day on Sunday.
We dry things out early next week and will crank the heat and humidity again by Wednesday and Thursday of next week. A cold front brings the chance of a few showers and storms late on Thursday with another hammer front looking to arrive next weekend that could bring us our first real touch of fall for the following week.
