A quiet stretch of weather is here for a few days to allow us to dry out and do a little yardwork the next few days. Here is my advice: enjoy the warmer air while we have it. Things will be drastically different and much colder by the end of the weekend and early next week.
Let’s start with today with lots of sunshine which will allow temperatures to climb up into the 70s and a few of us into the low 80s this afternoon off a comfy cool start to our Monday. As the high settles in overhead and the wind settles down overnight it will allow temperatures to fall quickly into the 50s tomorrow morning and I do suspect that a few of us may see overnight temperatures fall near the 50 degree threshold.
High pressure remains in control of our forecast for a few days and I do suspect that temperatures will climb up into the 80s for many of us on Tuesday and Wednesday with lots of sunshine before the wind begins to shift and pick up out of the south and east. Once this happens, our temperatures will be controlled a little bit with the cooler air off the Atlantic being mixed into the area. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will lead to temperatures into the 70s and low 80s and our chances for a few showers may start to creep into our forecast on Friday.
A better chance for showers and thunderstorms rolls into the forecast on Saturday in the afternoon and evening hours. Not the greatest news for those of us planning for a weekend at Camden Yards for game one of the ALDS. Sunday looks like the better weekend day at the moment, but it will be a windy and chilly day with temperatures behind the front in the 60s for highs. With the wind howling with gusts over 35+ mph expected on Sunday, those 60s will feel like the 50s and the end of our warm season will start to wind down.
