Thursday: A shower possible in the morning, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs around 80°F. Chance of rain 30 percent.

The threat for strong to severe thunderstorms continues Wednesday evening, but this time with the threats more concentrated over the Lower Eastern Shore and Accomack County.
A cold front is approaching from the northwest and will cross Delmarva tonight, stalling out south of the peninsula.
The front will trigger showers and thunderstorms that will again have the opportunity to tap into abundant moisture and warm air and develop into strong thunderstorms. While thunderstorms over the Midshore and Delaware will be more sparse in coverage, they could still be strong.
There is a low threat for tornadoes over the Lower Eastern Shore and Accomack County. Storms could also have damaging winds and frequent lightning.
One hazard we will be watching for particularly closely for is a flooding threat. Much of Delmarva received 3 to 5 inches of rain on Tuesday, and another several inches of rain is possible Wednesday evening, so watch for water-covered roadways in poorly drained areas.
Things calm down Thursday and Friday as skies turn mostly sunny with comfortable afternoon highs in the low 80s.
Isolated thunderstorm chances could return late this weekend, especially over southern parts of the peninsula.
There is another chance of thunderstorms around Tuesday into Wednesday next week.
In the Tropics: Tropical Storm "Bertha" is slowly tracking west along the Gulf Coast. It is expected to bring gusty winds, high surf, and heavy rain from the Florida Panhandle to southeast Texas. The storm is not a threat to Delmarva at this time.
