FORECAST DISCUSSION
Normal high: 62°F. Normal low: 40°F.
A warm front has crossed north of Delmarva, bringing unseasonable warmth to the peninsula Thursday afternoon.
With plenty of warm and humid air, and a frontal boundary to our north, there is a low chance for a stray thunderstorm to pop up Thursday evening over the Maryland Midshore and/or Delaware. While the chance for thunderstorms is low, there are good dynamics for such a thunderstorm to become severe, with damaging winds, hail, and a brief tornado all possible.
The boundary to our north will sag south, making for a challenging temperature forecast for Friday and Saturday. There is going to be a sharp contrast in temperatures across the boundary, so should the boundary sag south of your neighborhood, you could see afternoon temperatures 10 to 15 degrees lower than forecast, so keep a jacket handy, especially on the Midshore and Delaware, which are more likely to see the cooler temperatures north of the boundary.
With the boundary over the area, there will be chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday morning.
Saturday will be much like Friday, with the boundary over or near Delmarva, and the associated chance of much cooler temperatures if the boundary is south of your neighborhood.
A more substantial storm system could bring strong storms to Delmarva Sunday night into Monday, followed by cooler temperatures next week.
In the long range, temperatures are expected to average below normal, and precipitation near normal for April 10 - April 16.
