GEORGETOWN, DE - A former corrections officer is going to spend three years in prison after admitting to having sex with three female inmates. Thirty-nine year-old Christopher Peck, of Felton, pleaded guilty last month to six counts of sexual relations while he was a corrections officer at the Sussex Corrections Institution in Georgetown. He also pleaded guilty to one count of official misconduct.
Peck was charged with 11 incidents of sexual contact from July to November of 2013. The women prisoners were ages 19, 27, and 29 at the time of the incidents.
The judge presiding over the case told peck that his actions were quote, "closer to rape because of his position of power". The judge said he wanted to send a message to other correctional officers that there is quote a "cost for crime" in Sussex County.
