CENTREVILLE, Md. - One person is being treated for critical injuries following an explosion in the garage of a farm equipment supplier.
According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, a 55 gallon drum barrel exploded around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday while being cut in half at Southern States, located on Hope Road in Centreville.
Fire marshals said the victim sustained trauma to the head and face and was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.
Crews from the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Department and the Queen Anne's County Department of Emergency Services had the fire under control within 10 minutes before the patient was transported.
