REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- The town re-elects Samuel Cooper as mayor of Rehoboth Beach.
Nearly 800 residents came out to Convention Hall, located on Rehoboth Avenue, to cast their votes between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Mayor Samuel Cooper and Thomas E. McGlone were candidates in the mayoral race. Cooper garnered 685 votes.
McGlone won 364 votes.
Cooper has served as mayor for 24 years. McGlone ran for his seat three years ago.
Town commissioners were also elected in Rehoboth Beach today.
In the race for the town board, the candidates include Commissioner Lorraine Zellers and residents Kathleen McGuiness, Lawrence Myslewski, Francis Markert and John Meng.
McGuiness raked in 611 votes. Zellers won 584 votes. Markert pulled in 377 votes. Myslewski has 171 votes, and John Meng III won 163 votes.
Cooper will serve three more years.
McGuiness and Zellers will serve on the board for three years as well.
