SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - Delaware State Police say they have arrested a Rehoboth man and woman following a five month investigation into a series of thefts from cars along the Route 1 corridor in Sussex County.
Police say from March up until July, DSPD had received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles along the Route 1 corridor from the Nassau Bridge south to the Canal Bridge, as well as in the Angola area. Among the stolen items police reported were IPods, jewelry, and money. After countless interviews and a thorough investigation, police say they were positively able to identify William Rodenbaugh, 23, and Jaimie O'Connor, 31 as the suspects.
Detectives say they arrested Rodenbaugh on Wednesday, charging him with 127 charges, including burglary in the 3rd degree and theft. Rodenbaugh was arraigned at JP Court 3, but police say he was sent to Sussex Correctional Institution for failing to post bail of $555,050 in cash. Rodenbaugh's accomplice O'Connor was arrested on July 26, being charged with two counts of burglary in the 3rd degree, two counts of theft, and two counts of stolen property among other related charges.
The investigation is still pending; DSPD ask anyone with information about the suspects or anyone who may have been a victim of theft along the Route 1 corridor to contact Detective Kristunas and Detective Mills at (302) 752-3800.
