WBOC-FM Launches with Commercial-Free Christmas Music

SALISBURY, Md.- Delmarva’s newest radio station, 102.5 WBOC-FM, has launched with commercial-free Christmas music. The 50,000-watt station can be heard across much of the peninsula, and is a return to WBOC's roots.

“WBOC first launched as a radio station 75 years ago,” said Craig Jahelka, vice president & general manager. “What better way for us to come full circle than to launch WBOC-FM with the best selection of Christmas music available.  And we have some exciting things planned for the future, including giving away $50,000 to our listeners!”

Jahelka said WBOC-FM is currently hiring staff and updating equipment. Veteran broadcaster Joe Edwards is in place as WBOC-FM operations manager.

“We’re assembling a dynamic morning team, and hiring the best talent to ensure WBOC-FM will be a local station, heavily involved in our community featuring news and weather from the WBOC-TV News team,” said Edwards. “So we’d really appreciate it if you’d give us a button on your car radio.”

102.5 WBOC-FM was previously owned by Marantha Broadcasting and operated as WOLC. That station ceased broadcasting prior to the sale to Draper Holdings, parent company of WBOC-FM.

WBOC-FM is owned and operated by Draper Holdings, which also owns WBOC-TV, FOX21, WBOC Classics, WBOC.com and Loblolly LLC.
