DOVER, Del. - The Dover Police Department say they are investigating an armed burglary that occurred at a residence in the 100 Block of Cherry Street late last night, September 16.

Police say it happened around 11:48 p.m. According to their investigation, a 15-year-old girl was sitting alone on a downstairs couch when an unknown man entered the home through an unlocked rear door or window. The suspect then pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded money.

The 15-year-old told the suspect she didn't know what money he was referring to. Police say he then took an iPad, an iPhone, four bottles of medication and a Nintendo Switch charging dock before fleeing the scene through the back of the house. Four other family members were asleep upstairs at the time of the incident.

According to police, the suspect is described as a tall, thin black man wearing all black clothing and a mask. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.
