DOVER, Del.- A Clayton woman has been arrested in connection to an alleged burglary of a Dover home in August.

Delaware State Police say they were called to the 1000 block of Dinahs Corner Road around 4 p.m. on August 21st for reports of a burglary. Investigators say they learned that the 53-year-old homeowner returned to his home and found several items missing.

In another incident, a witness reportedly told the owner they had seen a suspicious woman leaving his property in a green sedan with a weed whacker sticking out of the car.

Authorities say they identified 44-year-old Lori Davenport as a possible suspect and an arrest warrant was issued.

On October 26, troopers responded to the Walmart on Jerome Drive in Dover after receiving a report that Davenport was in the store reportedly shoplifting. She was taken into custody without incident.

Davenport was taken to Troop 9 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary Second Degree (Felony)
  • Theft Over $1,500 (Felony)

Davenport was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on her own recognizance.
