CENTREVILLE, Md.-An early-morning fire causing damage to a commercial building in Queen Anne's County Wednesday morning.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal says the security alarm at Callahan's Gas and Appliance was triggered by motion around 7:30 a.m. The Goodwill Volunteer Fire Department responded to the building on the 100 block of North Commerce Street in Centreville and discovered the blaze. It reportedly took about 20 minutes to get under control. In all, about $100,000 in damage was done. No one was injured.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says fire department personnel found signs of a small explosion and singed paper in the building. Investigators believe the fire was accidental due to complications with the propane at the business.
