Offshore wind turbines NOT off the coast of Ocean City. 

OCEAN CITY, MD - Congressman Andy Harris of Maryland plans to hold a hearing on offshore wind in Ocean City this month.

According to the Town of Ocean City, Harris will hold the hearing on Saturday, January 20th at 2 p.m. at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center on Coastal Hwy. Congressmen Jeff Van Drew and Chris Smith of New Jersey will also be in attendance, according to Ocean City. 

Ocean City officials say the hearing aims to consider public testimony from experts in industries affected by offshore wind projects as well as feature questions from the three members of Congress whose districts are impacted. 

Expert witnesses from the fishing industry, environmental and energy sector, and economic sectors are slated to weigh in at the hearing. US Wind, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have also been invited as witnesses, according to an Ocean City press release.

The hearing is open to the public, and those who wish to attend can RSVP at this link. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.
