SALISBURY, MD - Coordination between Maryland and Delaware State Police has led to the arrest of a man in connection to a fatal 2024 shooting in Salisbury.
On June 10, 2024, police said Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, from Miami, FL, was shot dead on East Naylor Mill Road after a confrontation with an unknown suspect. Police asked anyone with information to contact them at the time.
On Saturday, May 3, Maryland State Police announced an arrest has been made in connection to the shooting.
According to authorities, Delaware State Police contacted Maryland State Police just before 9 p.m. on Friday after receiving a tip from an anonymous caller that a man wanted in connection to the shooting was spotted in a Millsboro parking lot.
Delaware State Police were then dispatched to the area on northbound Route 113 and arrested the suspect, identified as Fernando Medino-Moreta, 28, of Lincoln, DE.
Police say Moreta is currently awaiting extradition from Delaware to Maryland where he faces first and second-degree murder and other charges.
