VIENNA, MD– Maryland State Police say a Dorchester County man is facing attempted murder charges after shooting at a state trooper.
MSP responded to a home in the 100 block of Middle Street in Vienna for reports of a disturbance around 10:20 p.m. on April 2, according to a press release.
Officials say a trooper made contact with 46-year-old Armond Darel Jolley through an open door before Jolley retreated into the home, allegedly returning with a gun and firing several rounds at the trooper.
Jolley then reportedly fled as the trooper took cover and called additional units. The trooper was not injured in the shooting, according to a press release.
Around 20 minutes later, police say they found Jolley near Water Street and arrested him after a brief chase.
Jolley was committed to the Dorchester County Detention Center on no bond for attempted first-degree murder and additional charges.
The MSP Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
