DOVER, DE - Dover Police have arrested another man in connection to a homicide on Thanksgiving of 2022 in which one man was killed.
Police responded to a home on Forest Creek Drive just before 4 a.m. on Thursday, November 24th 2022 on reports of a shooting. There, police say they found Walter Pereira, 29, of Dover prone on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Pereira was taken to a local hospital but died of his wounds.
In December of 2022, police arrested Tyre Blue, 17, in connection with the shooting and charged him with first degree murder, among other charges.
Nearly a year after Pereira’s death, police say their investigation led to them identifying a second suspect in the homicide. On November 6th, 2023, Khalil Peden, 23, of Bear, was indicted by a Grand Jury. U.S. Marshals took Peden into custody on November 29th at a home in Wilmington.
Peden was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,000,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Murder First Degree
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Conspiracy First Degree
