KENT COUNTY - Officials with the Delaware House Republican Caucus say former State Representative and farming advocate Wally Caulk, Jr. passed away at the age of 85 on August 18.

Wally Caulk represented central Kent County during his 22-year tenure in the Delaware State House. Republican leaders say he was known for his plain-spoken nature, his independent streak, and his passion for upholding the conversative values of his district.

They say State Representative Shannon Morris, along with other leaders of the House Republican Caucus and the Speaker of the House, sponsored a House of Representatives Memoriam that commemorates Wally Caulk's life and service.

It reads as follows:

The Honorable G. Wallace Caulk, Jr.

Mr. Caulk will be fondly remembered for living his life with integrity and for his great devotion to his family.

He was known in the community as a successful farmer and businessman.

He served as the 33rd District Delaware State Representative from 1984 to 2006 and served on many committees including Agriculture; Health & Human Development; Transportation, Land Use, & Infrastructure; and Natural Resources & Environmental Management.

Mr. Caulk was a former Administrator of the Delaware Farm Bureau and was greatly involved in various community organizations.

He truly cherished spending time with his loving family and many friends.

This beloved husband, brother, stepson, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend will be dearly missed.
