ONANCOCK, VA - Four men have been arrested in connection to a murder investigation that began in February of 2024, according to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say their investigation began on February 13, 2024 just after 8:30 p.m. when they received reports of shots fired on Stumpy Lane in Onancock. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Rashaun Anthony Brown, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds. Brown died at the scene and his death was later ruled a homicide.

Following over a year-long investigation, the Sheriff’s Office says four indictments were issued on February 28, 2025. On March 18, police arrested Tyvon Lyncurtis Smith, 32, of Virginia Beach, Christopher Clovis-Weathers Monfiston, 32, of Chesapeake, Krig Nygee Weathers, 27, of Parksley, and Taquan Lee Bell, 26, of Accomac.

Smith has been charged with First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Monfiston faces charges of First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Weathers has been charged with First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Bell has been charged with First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder, Accessory After the Fact, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. 

Smith, Weathers, and Bell are all being held at Accomack County Jail, while Weathers is incarcerated in the Virginia Beach City Jail. All four have had their bail denied.
