CENTREVILLE, Md. — Maryland State Police responded to a report of an injured bald eagle on U.S. Route 50 near the Route 301 split Wednesday morning, according to a Facebook post.
The Centreville Barrack was called to the area around 11:05 a.m. Sept. 16 after the eagle was spotted on the highway.
Trooper Andre Setter, with help from an off-duty police officer, safely secured the bird and moved it away from traffic.
Maryland State Police intern Jackson Roach helped hold the eagle as it was taken to the Centreville Barrack.
Dr. Dave Kramar of Washington College later arrived at the barrack and took custody of the bird. Kramar planned to transport the eagle to a wildlife rehabilitation facility for treatment.
The condition of the eagle was not immediately available.
