Holiday Shoppers

As the countdown to Christmas intensifies, shoppers nationwide, and locally in Salisbury, hit the stores on 'Super Saturday,' the second-busiest shopping day of the year. The Centre at Salisbury witnessed a flurry of activity as shoppers wrapped up their holiday shopping.

For those who may have waited a bit too long to find that perfect gift, they're not alone. The National Retail Federation predicts that 'Super Saturday' will draw 142 million shoppers nationwide.

And shoppers like Aubrey Layfield say it's been -

“Chaotic, there’s a lot of people everywhere – but it’s understandable they have to be here last minute shopping for everything”

Business owners, such as Melissa Cardona, say it's been a fantastic day,

"It’s really good – for all the stores, I’m pretty sure, everyone’s excited with the crowds – just come out and shop!"

Nathan Wilkins, another shop owner, says the large crowds make it feel like Christmas,

"Oh man, it’s the holiday season! We all here, so many people I haven’t seen in a long time. You can tell everyone here is having a good time, good music playing, get you in a spending mood, get you in a shopping mood, or just get you here to be happy." said Wilkins.
