SEAFORD, Del.- A Seaford man was sentenced to four years in prison for dealing in child pornography.
Thomas Rankin, 51, pleaded guilty to two counts of dealing in child pornography in April.
In June 2018, members of the Child Predator Task Force were conducting a proactive investigation to identify offenders sharing child pornography and traced multiple suspect files being distributed from Rankin's home, prosecutors said.
A forensic examination of his electronic devices uncovered over 42,000 files of child pornography, prosecutors said.
Following his prison term, Rankin must serve five years of probation. He was also ordered to register as a Tier II sex offender.
