Denton House Fire Causes Estimated $200K in Damage

DENTON, Md.- An investigation is underway into the cause of a Denton house fire.

Flames broke out at the home on Hobbs Road a little before 9 a.m. Thursday, according to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal. 

Smoke alarms were present, but their activation was not known, since the home was vacant at the time. The fire was reported by a passerby, officials said.

It caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
