HARRINGTON, Del.- The Delaware State Fair set record attendance numbers for its centennial year.
According to fair organizers, 328,000 people visited the fair this year, despite the severe heat that plagued the festival for many days.
Attendance was up 12 percent from last year.
The fair also set a closing-day record when some 54,000 people visited the fairgrounds in Harrington, organizers said.
The 101st annual Delaware State Fair in 2020 is scheduled to run from Thursday, July 23 through Saturday, Aug. 1.
