People on Delmarva React to Upcoming Impeachment Vote

DELMARVA- Many people know that the vote on impeachment is coming, but some still believe President Donald Trump should not be impeached.

Mel Allison, who was making his way down Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, told WBOC that he still thinks the president is innocent, despite what he's seen on TV.

"I listen to all the news on TV and I just don't think he did anything wrong, nobody, from what I hear or what I see on TV, can convince me that the president did anything wrong," said Allison.

Rob Arlett, the chairman for President Trump's 2020 campaign for Delaware, said he is registering President Trump for the ballot in Delaware for next year's election. Arlett expects President Trump to be elected for another four years. He said the president has been targeted since the first day of his term.

"I believe they have been after President Trump since he won election in 2016. I think that's what's unfortunate. They just don't like him, it's not a reason to impeach him but they have announced their effort to impeach him the day he got elected," said Arlett.

Some people like Cathy Stanzione said she believes the president is getting what he deserves.

"The obstruction of justice and the reaching out to foreign governments are things that can not be ignored, they go against our constitution," said Stanzione.

Democrats said they have enough votes to impeach the president. It would make President Trump only the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. If he is impeached, there will be a trial a Senate. Two-thirds of the Senate present must then agree to convict and thus remove the president from office.
