DELMAR, Del.- A 26-year-old Delmar man is facing charges after he fired shots from his home late Wednesday night.
Delaware State Police said it happened shortly before 10 p.m., when troopers were dispatched to the 14000 block of Oak Branch Road in Delmar for a report of shots being fired.
When troopers arrived on the scene they determined the shots were heard coming from 26-year-old Tabvon L. Sabb's home. Troopers went to Sabb’s home where they said they discovered three empty 270 Winchester rifle bullets on the back porch.
Police said a further investigation revealed an unloaded Remington 270 Winchester rifle inside the home.
Troopers said when they made contact at the home, they detected an odor of alcohol. A computer inquiry revealed that Sabb was a person prohibited from possessing a firearm. Sabb was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited and possession of a firearm while under the influence.
Sabb was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $11,000 unsecured bond.
