SALISBURY, Md. - Wicomico County Public Schools have announced a new effort to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and counseling support for students.
Dr. Donna Hanlin, superintendent of WCPS, announced the district will be partnering with the District Management Group, a Boston-based organization, to create these improvements.
According to a press release from the district, the proposed project includes several phases, such as gathering data of WCPS’ support systems through focus groups, interviews and district data, identifying commendations and opportunities within the district, and pursuing action planning opportunities
“I am very proud of the quality of support we provide our students and the hard work of our staff who help all children achieve at high levels,” Hanlin said in a statement. “As part of Imagine 2022, even higher expectations require us to look for ways to further increase supports to our students without increasing stress on staff, and that is why we have engaged the District Management Group to assist us.”
The district says the results of this project should create a better understanding of what works in the district, and where improvement of delivery of services students and parents, and better utilization of district resources can be made.
